The New 2023 NORA Smart Sock! Standard-Range Suitable for Babies Sharing Room with Parents. Work with NORA Sock App 2.0. What's new in this 2023 model (Standard-Range)? New sensor hardware upgrade. Slight enlarged shape of the sensor and CPSIA certified (Doesn't contain any small part or sharp edge). Equipped with new optical PPG sensor for heart rate reading. Improved sensitivity and improved motion tolerance. Continuously improved algorithms that can accurately read out heart rate even when the baby is wiggling. The initial reading needs 2min. Improved rechargeable battery capacity of 30 hours and redundant battery safety. Added three thermal protection components in the sensor. Improved water resistance (not waterproofing). What is "Standard-Range" version? NORA has 2 versions: Standard-range and Long-range. The Standard-range version can cover 1 or at most 2 neighbor rooms, while the Long-range version can cover the whole house in most cases. The hardware are different inside. The Standard-range version (this listing) has less range but more economical. The range can cover 1 or at most 2 neighbor rooms. It's suitable for babies sharing room with parents. If you plan to let the baby sleep in a separate room in the foreseeable future, the Long-range version is recommended. The Long-range version (not this listing) is our flagship product. It always makes intelligent decision about setting power levels. It uses the minimal power to establish a direct Bluetooth link from the sensor to your iOS or Android. The practical range is up to 60ft in Sock Mode through dry walls and 40ft in Diaper Mode through dry walls, which can cover the whole house in most cases. An independent sleeper is a must sooner or later. For both Long-range and Standard-range sensor, you can use it anywhere! Road trips, hotels, camping! A direct Bluetooth link is way more flexible and reliable than WIFI based systems. NORA Sock App connects to 1 sensor at any time. NORA sensor connects to 1 smartphone at any time. Connect the sensor in the NORA Sock App, not in the smartphone settings. It works with NORA Sock App 2.0 on iOS and Android. Alerts include: (1) Heart rate alert when it's out of 70-160BPM, (2) Smart on-stomach alert when baby is in >70% deep sleep, and (3) Skin temperature alert when it's out of 86 to 98 degrees F. Not a medical device. NORA works day and night, indoors and outdoor, definitely on road trips! You would find it very useful in strollers and vehicles, especially if you travel alone with the infant. NORA connects to your smartphone (iOS or Android) directly over Bluetooth. No internet is needed. The Bluetooth range is 30 feet or1 drywall in between. The 'Diaper Mode' has a shorter range than the 'Sock Mode' because the sensor is more enclosed by the body. Alerts include: (1) Heart rate alert when it's out of 70-160BPM, (2) Smart on-stomach alert when baby is in >70% deep sleep, and (3) Skin temperature alert when it's out of 86 to 98 degrees F. Not a medical device. The Most Comprehensive Caring for Newborns Heart Rate The NORA sensor reads the heart rate continuously even when baby is wiggling. It takes about 2 min to get an initial reading. The heart rate gets updated in the App every second. Heart rate reading is mainly for sleep tracking, training and general wellness purposes. The heart rate critical alert range is out of 70 - 160BPM. Critical alert automatically overrides iOS 'Do-not-disturb' and 'Silent Mode' to produce notification sound on iPhones at night. Android needs a manual overriding in the Android notification setting. The alert can be individually switched on or off in the NORA Sock App 2.0. Not a medical device. Skin Temperature The NORA sensor measures the foot temperature, which is always lower than the body's core temperature. It's an essential indicator that the baby is feeling too warm or chills, so you know to put on more cloth or less. It's extremely useful when the baby is traveling with you or you live in a seasonal area. Get a notification when it's out of 86 to 98 degrees F. Skin temperature is not critical alert. It doesn't override 'Do-not-disturb'. Sleep Position Newborn infants should always sleep on their backs. The smart on-stomach alert can alarm when the baby is in deep sleep and suddenly changes its sleep position to on-stomach. The alert requires the baby is in deep sleep (quality over 70%) to avoid false alarms. The sleep position alert can override smartphone settings like the do-not-disturb. You can turn off this alert after the baby has mastered roll over skills. To trigger 'on-stomach' alert, it requires the baby was in deep sleep and suddenly was on-stomach. It's not that every time the sensor is flipped it will alert. This is for minimizing the false alarms. Sleep Tracking The sleep quality gives you an overlook of the baby's sleeping history and patterns. You can easily check how many hours your baby slept. A baby's sleep pattern evolves every day as it grows. It becomes very useful when you start sleep training on your baby from about 3-month-old. Read more NORA Smart Sock (Standard-Range for room-sharing babies) for Newborn to 3-years-old. Heart Rate, Temperature, Sleep Position & Quality Tracking. Easy to Use, Always Available. NORA gives you flexible control of the alarms. Alarms are produced from your smartphone. The volume is fully controlled by the phone. Each alert has an independent switch, so it fits in your scenario perfectly. For example, you may consider turning off the 'Sleeping Position' alert at about 6-month-old if your baby has mastered the roll-over skill. Ask pediatricians for safe sleep practices. NORA is made of multi-wavelength photoplethysmography and achieves expected accuracy. Thanks to that, NORA defines a much stricter and safer range for heart rate, from 70 to 160 BPM. The heart rate reading is accurate and responsive. It can detect elevated heart rate during feeding, which is normal and expected. NORA App can produce 'Critical Alert' on your phone for the heart rate and the sleeping position. 'Critical Alert' can override your iOS or Android settings and produce an alarming sound even when your phone was put in the Do-Not-Disturb mode intentionally. The 'Critical Alerts' can be turned off in settings. Alerts include: (1) Heart rate alert when it's out of 70-160BPM, (2) Smart on-stomach alert when baby is in >70% deep sleep, and (3) Skin temperature notification when it's out of 86 to 98 degrees F. Not a medical device. Ultra Soft and Breathable Fabrics. The sock uses a special type of fabric called 'Hollow Cotton'. The material is made of two layers of soft cotton with a 1mm air cushion gap in between. It provides ultra-soft feelings yet has a nice cooling and breathable effect. The patented wave-like edge design leaves minimal pressing marks. Each sock is cut out by laser. Improved to 84hr Battery Life. Although the APP still shows 30 hours estimation, the true battery life has been improved to about 3.5 days. Charge 10 min and use 24 hours. Charge 30 min in full and use 84 hours. Battery life over 72 hours at finish is very common to see. Remaining battery hours showed in the APP is very conservative for all legacy versions. The charging indicator turns from flashing red, to flashing yellow, to flashing green and finally solid green. Do NOT use a computer port to recharge. 3 Sizes Included. In the box, NORA provides 1 sensor and 3 fabric socks. The sensor attaches to the fabric socks by Velcro. The small sock is for newborn to 3-month-old. The medium is for up to 6-month-old. The large is for up to 12 or 18-month-old. Replacement socks are available. Read more Switch to 'Diaper Mode' is Necessary Since Around 6-Month-Old Sock Mode (NB - 6M) VS Diaper Mode (6M - 3Y) NORA supports both 'Sock Mode' and 'Diaper Mode', which make it flexible and make your life easier. In the 'Diaper Mode', you attach the self-sticking sensor to the front inner side of diapers. It works with all diapers of major manufacturers. From 6-month-old, the baby starts to grab and pull the sock. And the baby starts to learn standing on feet later. That's the reason of this product supports the very necessary 'Diaper Mode'. NORA is for Newborns to 3-Years-Old. The 'Sock Mode' supports from newborns to 18-month-old (3 sizes of sock), while the 'Diaper Mode' supports from 6-month-old to 3-years-old. The 'Diaper Mode' allows you to attach the self-sticking sensor to the front inner side of diapers. The Velcro on the sensor sticks to all diapers of major manufacturers. The 'Diaper Mode' is very necessary because babies above 6-month-old become very curious about surroundings including the sock on their feet and they start to learn standing. They grab, pull, and strip the sock. In contrast, a sensor hidden in the diaper draws little attention, especially after putting on clothes, so you can use the sensor up to 3-years-old. The 'Sock Mode' supports from birth to 18-month-old using three sock sizes, while It's recommended for birth to 6-month-old because many babies are able to start grabbing and pulling the sensor on their feet beyond that age. The 'Sock Mode' is good at catching the heart rate and it's more sensitive to ambient temperature change besides it has a longer Bluetooth range, so it's recommended for newborns. 'Diaper Mode' has a shorter Bluetooth range (20ft) than the 'Sock Mode' range (30ft) because the sensor is more enclosed by the body. When the baby is hugged by adults in the 'Diaper Mode', the sensor is sandwiched by bodies, and the Bluetooth range decreases to about 20ft. In both sock and diaper modes, the following alerts are provided in the NORA Sock App 2.0: (1) Heart rate alert when it's out of 70-160BPM, (2) Smart on-stomach alert when baby is in >70% deep sleep, and (3) Skin temperature notification when it's out of 86 to 98 degrees F. Not a medical device. NORA's Specifications (Standard Range) Battery Life 30 hours. Recharging USB Type-C recharging port. Quick recharging 10 minutes and use 8 hours. Track the sleep history as it grows every day. All alerts are smart ones to avoid false alarms, for example, position alert requires baby to be in sleep first. Heart rate and sleep position are critical alerts that can override do-not-disturb. Temperature is a regular notification.
Supports both 'Sock Mode' and 'Diaper Mode'. ‘Sock Mode’ is recommended for NB to 18M, while the ‘Diaper Mode’ is recommended for 6M to 3Y toddlers. From 6M, the baby starts to grab and pull socks, that’s why the ‘Diaper Mode’ becomes very very necessary to keep the sensor hidden and allow the baby to learn roll-over, pushing-feet, sitting, standing and walking skills. Parents love this dual-mode design allowing for longer use. NORA always provides free fabric sock replacement.
